The Voices for Juvenile Justice second annual conference was a success! There were over 100 participants, 5 roundtables, 3 different art workshops, an art exhibition by George Junior Republic youth, and the creation of action steps and lots of discussion between social justice advocates, youth and families impacted by the juvenile justice system, and Pittsburgh based agencies including Passport Academy Charter School, the Pittsburgh Police, AD99 Solutions, Amachi, Cafe Momentum, ALC Courtwatch,
Systems Improvement Through Youth (SITY), the Abolitionist Law Center, Gwen’s Girls, Neighborhood Resiliency Project, ACH Clear Pathways R.E.A.C.H, The Elsinore Bennu Think Tank for Restorative Justice, researchers from different universities (SRU, Duquesne, Chatham, IUP, UPitt, CMU, Davis & Elkins College, and PennWest California University), and other stakeholders.
